An Afternoon with Birken Tree.

The T’Go Creative team recently enjoyed an afternoon in the forest with our good friends Rob and Gabrielle from Birken Tree. We were invited for a BBQ and to sample their product direct from the Birch Tree.

It wasn’t just a day out though . . . they really put us to work!

Birken Tree is a company setup by Rob and Gabrielle. They produce an incredible drink made from birch water that comes direct from the trunk of the tree. It has to be seen to be believed!

The process involves ‘tapping’ the tree which results in sap pouring from it instantly. This process can only be carried out during a 3 week period of the year or the sap becomes unsuitable for drinking. Birch water is already popular across Finland and the Baltic States, but has been dated back 5000 years where is was used for its health benefits.

Rob and Gabrielle showed us the tapping process and then put us to work ‘tapping’ the trees. We emptied the collected sap into containers where it is frozen prior to their secret processes before it is bottled and sold.

There was something very satisfying about being away from the desk, out in the forest (at a top secret location) and drinking sap straight from the tree . . . plus the BBQ was pretty good too.
